Why do document lists differ between offices?
National rules set the conditions for a one-year extension of stay, but provincial immigration offices decide how evidence is checked. Expats in Isan often report that one office asks for documents another does not. Preparing for the stricter practice saves extra trips.
Documents commonly requested for a marriage extension

- A map to the house and, in some offices, a home visit.
- Bank letter and updated bank book dated close to the filing date.
- TM.30 receipt for the current address.
- Signed copies of all passport pages.
