The LTR programme, administered by the Board of Investment, grants a renewable ten-year visa together with a digital work permit, annual instead of 90-day reporting, and in some categories a flat 17% personal income tax rate on Thai-sourced employment income.
Qualification is assessed by the BOI first, before the visa is issued by immigration. The BOI scrutinises income, asset and employer evidence closely, and well-prepared applications avoid repeated requests for clarification.
What we handle
- Wealthy Global Citizen: assets and Thai investment thresholds.
- Wealthy Pensioner: retirement income and investment evidence.
- Work-from-Thailand Professional: employer size and income evidence.
- Highly-Skilled Professional: qualifying employer or targeted-industry analysis.
- Dependant applications for spouse and children.
How the process works
Step 1
Category mapping
We compare your income and asset profile to all four categories.
Step 2
BOI qualification
Online application and evidence submission to the BOI LTR unit.
Step 3
Visa issuance
On endorsement, the visa is issued at an embassy or at the One Start One Stop centre in Bangkok.
Step 4
Digital work permit
Where applicable, we register the digital work permit and set up annual reporting.

Why are applications refused, and how do we prepare?
| Common refusal reason | How we prepare |
|---|---|
| Income or asset evidence not matching the chosen LTR category | We map your profile to the right category before you open the BOI application. |
| Insurance certificate missing required coverage | We verify the policy wording before submission. |
Counsel's note
Thresholds are set by BOI notification and are revised periodically. We verify the current figures on the LTR portal before every engagement rather than relying on historical numbers.
