Thai visas & work permits for Danish citizens

Danish citizens can visit Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism from 15 September 2026. Danes staying longer mostly use the retirement visa, the marriage visa or the DTV for seasonal stays. Denmark is an Apostille Convention party, so Danish documents move to apostille from 28 February 2027.

Do documents from Denmark need an apostille or legalisation?

Denmark is a party to the Apostille Convention. Thailand acceded on 30 June 2026 and the Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027; until then documents from Denmark still need Thai embassy legalisation, and from that date an apostille is expected to suffice.
