Thai visas & work permits for Lao citizens
Lao citizens enter Thailand visa-free under an ASEAN bilateral agreement. Lao workers are commonly hired under the MOU system; skilled professionals use the Non-B visa and regular work permit. Many Lao nationals live in Isan, where our Khon Kaen branch can help with local immigration offices.

Do documents from Laos need an apostille or legalisation?
As of our last check, Laos is not a party to the Apostille Convention, so Laos-issued documents continue to need authentication in Laos followed by legalisation at a Thai embassy or consulate, both before and after 28 February 2027.

- Different document lists between provincial offices.
