🇱🇻 Latvia
Thai visas & work permits for Latvian citizens
Latvian citizens can visit Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism from 15 September 2026. Latvian nationals commonly use the DTV for remote work, the retirement visa or the marriage visa, and employees need a Non-B with a work permit. Latvia is an Apostille Convention party.

Do documents from Latvia need an apostille or legalisation?
Latvia is a party to the Apostille Convention. Thailand acceded on 30 June 2026 and the Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027; until then documents from Latvia still need Thai embassy legalisation, and from that date an apostille is expected to suffice.
Read our apostille guideCommon mistakes we see
- Late 90-day reporting after arrival.
- Latvian documents without certified translation.
- Starting work before the permit is issued.
