Thai visas & work permits for Pakistani citizens

Pakistani citizens normally need a visa before travelling to Thailand, applied for through the Thai e-Visa portal. Common routes are the tourist visa, the education visa, the business visa and a Non-B with a work permit. Pakistan joined the Apostille Convention in 2023.

Can Pakistani citizens enter Thailand without a visa?

Visa normally required

As of our last check this passport is not on the 30-day tourism exemption list that took effect on 15 September 2026, so a visa (usually via the Thai e-Visa portal) is needed before travel. Always confirm on the official e-Visa portal before booking.

Do documents from Pakistan need an apostille or legalisation?

Pakistan is a party to the Apostille Convention. Thailand acceded on 30 June 2026 and the Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027; until then documents from Pakistan still need Thai embassy legalisation, and from that date an apostille is expected to suffice.
