Thai visas & work permits for Filipino citizens
Filipino citizens can enter Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism from 15 September 2026. Many Filipinos work in Thailand as teachers and hospitality staff with a Non-B visa and work permit. Working on visa exemption is illegal; the employer must start the process.

30-day visa exemption (tourism)

Work permits for Filipino nationals
Teaching posts need a degree and often a teaching licence waiver; schools should prepare the documents. Employers who ask you to start before the permit is issued put you at risk.

Do documents from Philippines need an apostille or legalisation?
The Philippines is a party to the Apostille Convention. Thailand acceded on 30 June 2026 and the Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027 — until then, the Philippines-issued documents still need legalisation by the Thai embassy or consulate; from that date an apostille from the competent the Philippines authority is expected to suffice.
