Thai visas & work permits for Portuguese citizens
Portuguese citizens can visit Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism from 15 September 2026. Portuguese nationals often choose the retirement visa or the DTV, and companies second staff on a Non-B with a work permit. Portugal is an Apostille Convention party.

Do documents from Portugal need an apostille or legalisation?
Portugal is a party to the Apostille Convention. Thailand acceded on 30 June 2026 and the Convention enters into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027; until then documents from Portugal still need Thai embassy legalisation, and from that date an apostille is expected to suffice.
