Thai visas & work permits for Vietnamese citizens
Vietnamese citizens enter Thailand visa-free under an ASEAN bilateral agreement. Vietnamese workers may be employed under the government-to-government MOU system or with a Non-B visa and regular work permit, depending on the job. Vietnam is not an Apostille Convention party, so legalisation continues.

Do documents from Vietnam need an apostille or legalisation?
As of our last check, Vietnam is not a party to the Apostille Convention, so Vietnam-issued documents continue to need authentication in Vietnam followed by legalisation at a Thai embassy or consulate, both before and after 28 February 2027.
