The Non-Immigrant O-A route is intended for eligible retirement applicants aged 50 or over applying through a Thai mission abroad. It differs from an ordinary retirement-based Non-O application: the issuing post normally examines residence jurisdiction, criminal-record evidence, a medical certificate and qualifying health insurance.
Visa validity, the stay granted at entry and the insurance coverage period are separate matters. We check the responsible mission's requirements and the arrival stamp, then plan any extension with the immigration office responsible for your Thai address.
What we handle
- Check eligibility and the issuing mission's residence jurisdiction.
- Review insurance wording and medical documentation.
- Prepare retirement finances and background evidence.
- Plan entry checks, reporting and later extensions.
How the process works

Step 2
Evidence
Coordinate financial, medical, insurance and criminal-record documents.
Step 3
Submission
Submit through the prescribed channel and address additional requests.
Step 4
Arrival review
Check the permitted-stay stamp and calendar ongoing obligations.

Why are applications refused, and how do we prepare?
| Common refusal reason | How we prepare |
|---|---|
| Insurance or background evidence does not satisfy the issuing mission | We check policy wording, certificate formats and document validity against the mission's current checklist. |
| Applicant uses an ordinary retirement-extension checklist for an O-A application | We separate overseas O-A requirements from later in-country extension requirements. |
Counsel's note
Financial thresholds, accepted financial methods and insurance limits must be confirmed against current official notices. Do not assume an overseas policy or an ordinary Non-O checklist satisfies O-A requirements.
