The Non-Immigrant O-X scheme is a retirement-oriented long-stay route for applicants aged 50 or over from specified nationalities. It is commonly described as a ten-year programme, structured around an initial period of up to five years and a further period subject to continued eligibility.
O-X involves specific Thai banking, insurance and continuing-compliance conditions. Eligibility is not established merely by owning property or holding an overseas pension, and permission can be affected if the required conditions cease to be met.
What we handle
- Confirm nationality eligibility and application jurisdiction.
- Review Thai bank deposits and income evidence.
- Check insurance and continuing balance conditions.
- Compare O-X with O-A and ordinary retirement routes.
How the process works
Step 1
Route comparison
Assess whether O-X fits your nationality and residence plans.
Step 2
Banking review
Check account ownership, funding history and applicable retention rules.
Step 3
Application
Assemble the issuing authority's current evidence package.
Step 4
Maintenance
Track reporting, insurance and ongoing eligibility checks.

Why are applications refused, and how do we prepare?
| Common refusal reason | How we prepare |
|---|---|
| Nationality or banking arrangements do not satisfy O-X conditions | We verify nationality eligibility, account ownership and the current deposit conditions before filing. |
| Continuing insurance or retained-balance conditions are overlooked | We prepare a maintenance calendar covering insurance and ongoing financial evidence. |
Counsel's note
Financial thresholds, deposit-retention periods and insurance limits must be confirmed against current official notices. A long visa validity does not remove reporting duties or continuing eligibility conditions.
